| | About us:
We believe we can all provide positive examples and needed aid through living and volunteering in rural communities...
|
| The Agora Experience had its first international season in 2007. Experience attendees included 10 volunteers who completed a variety of projects in Homorodalmas and the Vargyas Gorge. In the village Attendees finished 2 traditional fruit driers which have since become part of ongoing income generation projects in Homorodalmas and in the Gorge we completed a campsite and worked on a badly eroded trail. The Agora Experience received the honor of being considered a "Best Practice" for Peace Corps' National Report to Congress and has been nominated for several international awards due to its comprehensive nature.
Agora's Values are represented by our motto “with light steps on the Earth”:
- we respect the unique values of people, cultures, environments, and democratic process;
- we seek integrity through quality, fairness and dignity in all that we do;
- we believe in creativity - - the value of new ideas in working for positive change;
- and through service we can all contribute to balanced, compassionate development and the betterment of humankind.
