list should help get you started. We will send you a more
complete list mid-summer and feel free to contact us in the meantime
with any questions.

- Comfortable shoes (hiking boots, sandals, etc…)
- Summer clothes and a good hat
- A pair of pants you can get dirty
- One nicer outfit for meeting officials and travelling
- Something warm for the evenings
- A camera (digital or film)
- A good backpack (most people bring a day pack and a suitcase/duffle bag for clothes)
- Sleeping bag for camp outs
- Flashlight or headlamp
- Current passport (no need for a visa)
- Spending money (tip: dollars are easier to change than travelers checks)
- Sunscreen, bug spray and medications
- Gift for your host family (something small like a picture book or coffee)
